• UNESCO launches the Global Report 2022 Re|Shaping Policies for Creativity – Addressing culture as a global public good

    The UNESCO Global Report, Re|Shaping Policies for Creativity – Addressing culture as a global public good, is the third edition of a series designed to monitor the implementation of the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. As the only Report of its kind, it provides a global overview of the state of the cultural and creative sectors, through insightful new data that shed light on emerging trends at a global level and puts forward policy recommendations to foster creative ecosystems that contribute to a sustainable world by 2030 and beyond.

  • Izmir'21 UCLG Culture Summit: Izmir Declaration “Culture Builds the Future of Humanity”

    The 4th UCLG Culture Summit took place between 9-11 September, hosted by Izmir brought together a total of 864 speakers and participants from 65 countries. In the declaration titled “Culture Builds the Future of Humanity” published at the end of the summit, the importance of culture and the responsibilities of local governments in this context were emphasized in achieving the UN 2030 Agenda.

  • UCLG Culture Summit. Culture Shaping the Future Programme Overview

    The Culture Summit is organized by the world organisation of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) to guarantee the place of culture in global debates on sustainable development and to encourage networking, peer-learning and the sharing of good practices between cities and local governments from across the world. Held in Bilbao, Jeju and Buenos Aires in previous years, the 4th UCLG Culture Summit will be hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality on 9-11 September 2021 in Izmir, a global actor of local cultural policies.
