UNESCO 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions has been Ratified by Turkey

UNESCO 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, which was adopted by The General Conference of UNESCO on 20 October 2005 and entered into force on 18 March 2007, has been ratified by Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA) on 1 March 2017. The law corresponding the finding (the law no. 6892) was published in the Gazette on 25 March 2017.

The UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions had been ratified by 144 countries and European Union until 2017. The ratification of the Convention in Turkey after a six years wait time in the general assembly of TGNA, makes Turkey the 145th party to the Convention.
