Open Call: Buffer Fringe Festival

May '23

Buffer Fringe Performing Arts Festival

Home for Cooperation is a community centre located in the United Nations Buffer Zone in Nicosia, Cyprus. The centre is a shared space where people from different backgrounds can come together to engage in various cultural, social, and educational activities. The Buffer Fringe Festival is one of the centre's most significant initiatives, bringing together local and international artists to showcase new and experimental work.

The Buffer Fringe Festival is an annual event that showcases new and experimental work by local and international artists. This year, the festival is scheduled to take place on the 5th, 6th, and 7th of October 2023. The festival's theme for 2023 is "Turning Point", inspired by the festival's 10-year mark.

The Buffer Fringe Festival welcome artists from all forms of experimental performance work, which can contain (but are not limited to) theatre, music, dance, acrobatics, installation/visual art, and other cross-disciplinary elements. We welcome proposals for participatory, durational, and site-specific formats. The festival welcome new works, works in progress, and works previously presented in Cyprus or abroad.

The open call will run until the 14th of May 2023, 23:59 CET, and the festival's selection committee will make the results public by early June 2023. You can find more information on the festival's website and social media platforms. [Facebook] [Instagram]
