Open call for artists and collectives from Europe – Join in!

A-i-R Wro is a long-term and interdisciplinary artist-in-residence programme established under the auspices of the European Capital of Culture Wroclaw 2016. Based on a collaboration of local and foreign partners it aims to create an international platform that will enable artists, curators, animators, managers, organisations and institutions to cooperate and exchange their experiences, practices, ideas and knowledge. In addition, A-i-R Wro intends to promote artists, support their development and mobility as well as to give them an opportunity to form cultural bonds beyond borders.

 

We invite artists, art curators, cultural activists and managers, who represent various fields or actively create in border areas between them, to create artistic and/or cultural project directly reflecting the main idea behind this call: art and culture during migration crisis in Europe in XXI century.

 

• 2-month residency in Wroclaw between August and November 2016

• accommodation in the city centre

• coverage of travel expenses up to €600

• total fee in the amount of €1350 gross per project

• substantive, production and promotional support

 

We invite artists and artistic collectives (up to 3 members) living, learning or working in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Germany, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Hungary, United Kingdom, Italy, Albania, Montenegro, Iceland, Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Israel, Kosovo, Morocco, Moldova, Ukraine, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

 

The application shall include the following documents in English:

• CV

• portfolio

• description of the project and its realisation process including project’s schedule and potential partners from Wroclaw (institutions, organisations, individual artists and artistic groups)

 

Applications can be submitted only via e-mail rezydencje@wroclaw2016.pl by 11th of May 2016. The subject of the email should include the name of the country and the applicant’s name and surname. Please also include the preferred months of residency in the e-mail.

A-i-R Wro ist ein langfristiges und interdisziplinäres Artist-in-Residence-Programm, das unter den Auspizien der Kulturhauptstadt Europas Wroclaw 2016 entstanden ist. Diese auf Zusammenarbeit lokaler und ausländischer Partner basierende Initiative setzt sich zum Ziel, eine internationale Kooperationsplattform für Künstler, Kuratoren, Animateure, Führungskräfte, Organisationen und Institutionen zu bilden und ihnen damit einen Austausch von Erfahrungen, Praktiken und Ideen sowie einen Wissensaustausch zu ermöglichen. Darüber hinaus möchte das A-i-R Wro-Programm Künstler fördern, ihre Entwicklung und Mobilität unterstützen und ihnen die Gelegenheit geben, grenzüberschreitende kulturelle Bindungen zu knüpfen und zu entwickeln.

 

Wir laden Künstler, Kunstkuratoren, Kulturaktivisten und Führungskräfte ein, die unterschiedliche Kunstfelder repräsentieren beziehungsweise in Grenzbereichen zwischen diesen Feldern schöpferisch tätig sind, ein Kunst- und/oder Kulturprojekt zu entwickeln, das die Hauptidee dieser Ausschreibung direkt widerspiegeln würde: Kunst und Kultur während der Migrationskrise im Europa des 21. Jahrhunderts.

 

• 2-monatige Residenz in Wroclaw im Zeitraum zwischen August und November 2016

• Unterkunft im Stadtzentrum

• Deckung der Reisekosten bis 600€

• Gesamtzuschuss in der Höhe von 1350 € brutto für Ihr Projekt

• substantielle und fördernde Unterstützung bei der Projektumsetzung

 

Bewerben können sich Künstler und künstlerische Gruppen (bis 3 Personen), die in den folgenden Ländern leben, lernen beziehungsweise arbeiten: Albanien, Belgien, Bosnien und Herzegowina, Bulgarien, Dänemark, Deutschland, Estland, Finnland, Frankreich, Georgien, Griechenland, Spanien, Niederlande, Irland, Island, Israel, Italien, Kosovo, Kroatien, Lettland, Liechtenstein, Litauen, Luxemburg, Malta, Marokko, Mazedonien, Moldau, Montenegro, Norwegen, Österreich, Portugal, Rumänien, Schweiz, Serbien, Slowakei, Slowenien, Schweden, Tschechische Republik, Türkei, Ukraine, Ungarn, Vereinigtes Königreich und Zypern.

 

Die Bewerbung soll aus folgenden Unterlagen (in englischer Sprache) bestehen:

• Portfolio

• Beschreibung des Projekts und seiner Umsetzung einschließlich des Projektzeitplans und potentieller Partner in Wroclaw (Institutionen, Organisationen, Einzelkünstler bzw. Künstlergruppen)

 

Bewerbungen sind ausschließlich per E-Mail: rezydencje@wroclaw2016.pl bis zum 11. Mai 2016 einzureichen. Der E-Mail-Betreff soll den Namen des Landes sowie den Vor- und Nachnamen des Bewerbers enthalten. In der E-Mail ist auch der bevorzugte Zeitraum der Residenz mitzuteilen.
